## Samenvatting
De app is bedoeld voor noorderlichtverwachtingen en waarschuwingen. We **verkopen** je gegevens niet, tonen geen advertenties en gebruiken geen analytics- of advertentie-SDK’s. De meeste gegevens blijven op je apparaat. Persoonlijke informatie verlaat je apparaat alleen wanneer **jij ervoor kiest** een noorderlichtwaarneming in te sturen.

## Welke informatie we verzamelen
### Gegevens op je apparaat (niet naar ons verzonden)
De app slaat voorkeuren lokaal op in Android-opslag, waaronder:
– Drempelwaarden voor meldingen (Kp en zonnewindenergie)
– Taalkeuze
– Optioneel opgeslagen e-mailadres voor waarnemingen (voor je gemak)
– App-instellingen (bijv. automatisch afspelen, startscherm, meldingen snoozen)
Deze gegevens worden niet naar onze servers verzonden. De app verwijderen of app-gegevens wissen in Android-instellingen verwijdert ze.
### Gegevens die je zelf instuurt (waarnemingen)
Als je een noorderlichtwaarneming instuurt, kun je optioneel het volgende opgeven:
– **Locatie** (GPS-coördinaten), als je locatietoegang geeft
– **E-mailadres** (optioneel)
– **Opmerkingen** (optionele vrije tekst)
– **Foto** (optioneel), als je cameratoegang geeft
Deze informatie wordt vanaf je apparaat naar een **Discord-kanaal** van Noorderlichtjagers gestuurd, zodat moderators waarnemingen kunnen beoordelen en bevestigde meldingen met de community kunnen delen. We gebruiken waarnemingsgegevens niet voor advertenties of profilering.
### Gegevens die we niet verzamelen
We verzamelen **geen**:
– Account- of inloggegevens (de app heeft geen gebruikersaccounts)
– Betaal- of financiële gegevens
– Contacten, sms, belgeschiedenis of browsegeschiedenis
– Apparaat-ID’s voor tracking of analytics
– Locatie voor meldingen (waarschuwingen gebruiken alleen **wereldwijde** voorspellingswaarden)

## Machtigingen
De app kan om het volgende vragen:
– **Internet** — voorspellingen en ruimteweerdata ophalen
– **Meldingen** — waarschuwen wanneer wereldwijde Kp of zonnewindenergie boven je drempels uitkomt
– **Locatie (precies)** — optioneel; gebruikt op de schermen Waarnemen en Verwachting en bij het insturen van een waarneming
– **Camera** — optioneel; alleen wanneer je een foto voor een waarneming maakt
Optionele machtigingen kun je weigeren; de kernfuncties blijven werken, maar sommige functies (GPS-weergave, fotowaarnemingen) zijn dan beperkt.

## Bewaren en verwijderen
– **Gegevens op apparaat:** Verwijderd wanneer je app-gegevens wist of de app verwijdert.
– **Ingestuurde waarnemingen:** Opgeslagen in Discord volgens Discord’s bewaarregels. Wil je een eigen inzending laten verwijderen? Neem contact op via [noorderlichtjagers.nl](https://noorderlichtjagers.nl) of Discord met genoeg details om het bericht te herkennen.
We houden geen aparte gebruikersdatabase bij voor de Android-app.

## Beveiliging
Waarnemingsgegevens worden via versleuteld HTTPS verzonden. Discord-webhookgegevens zijn in de app-build geconfigureerd en worden niet door gebruikers ingevoerd. Geen enkele methode van verzending of opslag is 100% veilig; we nemen redelijke stappen om toegang tot ingestuurde waarnemingen te beperken tot moderatie.

## Kinderen
De app is niet gericht op kinderen jonger dan 13 jaar. We verzamelen bewust geen persoonsgegevens van kinderen. Denk je dat een kind persoonsgegevens via de app heeft ingediend? Neem contact met ons op zodat we passende actie kunnen ondernemen.

## Summary
The app is built for aurora forecasts and alerts. We do **not** sell your data, show ads, or use analytics or advertising SDKs. Most data stays on your device. The only time personal information may leave your device is when **you choose** to submit an aurora observation.

## Information we collect
### Data stored on your device (not sent to us)
The app saves preferences locally using Android storage, including:
– Notification thresholds (Kp and solar wind energy)
– Language choice
– Optional saved email address for observation submissions (for your convenience)
– App settings (e.g. autoplay, launch tab, notification snooze)
This data is not transmitted to our servers. Uninstalling the app or clearing app data in Android settings removes it.
### Data you choose to submit (observations)
If you tap to submit an aurora observation, you may optionally provide:
– **Location** (GPS coordinates), if you grant location permission
– **Email address** (optional)
– **Notes** (optional free text)
– **Photo** (optional), if you grant camera permission
This information is sent from your device to a **Discord channel** operated by Noorderlichtjagers, so moderators can review and share confirmed sightings with the community. We do not use observation data for advertising or profiling.

– Account or login information (the app has no user accounts)
– Payment or financial information
– Contacts, SMS, call logs, or browsing history
– Device identifiers for tracking or analytics
– Location for notifications (alerts use **global** forecast values only)

## Permissions
The app may request:
– **Internet** — fetch forecasts and space-weather data
– **Notifications** — alert you when global Kp or solar wind energy exceeds your thresholds
– **Location (precise)** — optional; used on the Observe and Forecast screens and when submitting an observation
– **Camera** — optional; only when you choose to take a photo for an observation
You can deny optional permissions; core forecast features still work, but some features (GPS display, photo observations) will be limited.

## Data retention and deletion
– **On-device data:** Removed when you clear app data or uninstall the app.
– **Observation submissions:** Stored in Discord according to Discord’s retention rules. To request removal of a submission you made, contact us via [noorderlichtjagers.nl](https://noorderlichtjagers.nl) or Discord with enough detail to identify the message.
We do not maintain a separate user database for the Android app.

## Security
Observation data is sent over encrypted HTTPS. Discord webhook credentials are configured in the app build and are not entered by users. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we take reasonable steps to limit access to submitted observations to moderation purposes only.

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data through the app, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
